2008 New Visions/New Mexico Contract Awards. “The Sands of Time’ was awarded a grant of $18,000 in late October, 2008. In this program, awardees provide a service to the state as part of their contract. Ours included training four interns, providing one free in-state screening of the work in progress, and offering five workshops. The New Visions program is an important part of New Mexico’s long-term strategy to build a strong local media community. The workshops were held at the Art Center Design College, the University of New Mexico Continued Education Department, and the Public Academy for Performing Arts. Different subjects were presented, including an introduction to all the stages from script to screen, as well as more focused workshops on 2D animation, 3D animation, and voiceover/acting for animation.
